The X Factor will soon present its very first live show in the United States and it is set to follow the example of the UK show.

Going by a recent post on the series’ official website, The X Factor is ready to cut down the number of the finalists for Tuesday’s event from seventeen acts to twelve… and the judges will be the ones to make the decision instead of voting by members of the public.

It appears the show had intended to extend this into several evenings; however the World Series will likely take six games to complete and this fact must be taken into consideration. Because of that, the series is not willing to commit itself to anything in excess of one episode being broadcast this week.

The show will attempt to compensate for this by making the show to last for 2 hours 30 minutes..But then the United Kingdom edition had just 16 contestants and no outcomes, and it still lasted for 2 hours 30 minutes.
