The X Factor: Simon Cowell Dispels Rumors
There has been rumors going online about possible new judges of the ‘X Factor’. One of them was that Beyonce has been offered one hundred or five hundred million dollars to be a judge of the show. Another was that Mariah Carey and Elton John have also been approached. But executive producer of the show Simon Cowell has come out to categorically deny all of this.

It was actually reported by several media houses that he offered Beyonce the said amount but he came out to say that such a thing never occurred. He also said that the idea of Elton John becoming a judge in the show did not cross their mind because he would have been difficult to manage and that he also has his own show which he is committed to.
But he also hinted that Katy Perry is in his shortlist of possible judges for the U.S version of the show. This entire buzz about new judges started when Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and Steve Jones were fired as judges in the show. But L.A Reid and Cowell will continue as judges in the show in 2012.
Speaking on the firing, he said it was decided by the basses of the show at the beginning of the year and they wanted it done immediately. He said he wants to revert back to his original plan for the show as far as the U.S version goes and he is looking forward to having a man and a woman co host the show.
When asked how the ex judges reacted when they were told they were being fired, he gave special mention of Paula Abdul saying that she handled it gracefully and that she understood it was nothing personal. He also said that if he had his way he would have kept her in the show. But he said of Nicole that he does not think that she is really mad about being fired but that she is disappointed about it. When asked why Reid was not fired, he said that he doesn’t think they could have found a better replacement for him.
