LA Reid of ‘The X Factor’ is the new CEO of Epic Records
Barely a month after the official announcement came that LA Reid of The X Factor was now a part of Sony Music, it has now come out that he has been made the new chairman of Epic Records, a Sony Music company.

It was earlier speculated that Reid could be named the chairman of both Jive Records and Epic Records but Sony has made it clear that Reid will only head Epic Records.
Most of Michael Jackson’s solos were released through Epic Records and the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Ceilne Dion and Ciara are working with the company.
Prior to heading Epic Records, Reid worked as the chairman of Island Def Jam Music Group. The company is now a part of Universal Music. He resigned from the position back in March 2011 and in an interview given in April, he suggested he could join another record company.
At the new company Reid will get a chance to work with one of his previous bosses – Doug Morris. Reid worked under Morris when he was the CEO of Universal Music during 1995-2011.
Reid is also a part of The X Factor which is a talent contest for solo singers and offers a reward of $5 million and a deal with Sony Music to the winner. Anyone above the age of 12 and a legal worker in the United States can participate.
